Meaning:
"One" is the only song on X that was written about the woman/girl (Alice) who inspired his first studio album. Its about the break up, his pain, wishes and hopes about her coming back. As he says in the song "you are the only one". Its about the time after the break up and describes his feelings while losing her.

Opinion:
Ed Sheeran is an amazing songwriter. This is one of my favourite songs on his second album. I love the way its just him and the guitar. The vocals are amazing and his way of expressing himself is really unique and amazing

Meaning: 
For Lovato the song represents everything she was going through during her depressive time.  Its about staying strong. 
"The song was inspired by a picture of the apocalypse, in which the world was in ruins and among collapsed buildings, one skyscraper was still standing...When the song was recorded, Lovato was very emotional which triggered outbursts and caused her to start crying. In November 2010, Lovato entered a treatment facility to deal with her personal struggles. After completing her treatment and leaving the treatment facility in late January 2011, Lovato re-recorded the song, but kept the original recording as she felt it was "symbolic" to her"-Wikipedia 

Opinion:
"Skyscraper" really means a lot to me. The lyrics are really good written and the meaning is amazing. I love the vocals in there. Her voice turns a bit throaty during the chorus and her breathing expresses the whole story.
Its an amazing pop song with great lyrics an amazing story and great vocals.

Meaning:
Swift wrote this song about the media and the way they made her up as a totally different person. During the last years the media said lots of wrong stuff about her. She wrote the song from the perspective of that crazy woman the media made up.
"The media talks a lot about what they think my personal life is like. they draw off this fictious profile of this girl whos a serial dater and she is over emotional and she is this unstable completly clingy lady. I thought about how complex and interesting that character actually is, if it were a real girl."-Taylor Swift

My opinion:
I truly love it. Its different from everything she has done before. The story and the lyrics are amazing. Its a good produced song and even if you usually dont like Swifts music you might like it. Its really pop but still different from everything we usually get to hear on the radio.
Its a really good pop song and i really enjoy listening to it :)
